Modi is keeping away from Manipur: Congress, Shah failed to handle the situation
The violence between two communities in Manipur has completed two years today (May 3). The Congress targeted the BJP for this. The Congress said, ‘PM Modi is keeping distance from Manipur. Home Minister Amit Shah has failed to handle the state situation.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said- President’s rule is going on in Manipur since February 13, but not the existing assembly dissolved, only suspended. Many civilians are against this. The political power is in the hands of former CM Viren Singh, because the BJP is scattered here.
The conflict between the Kuki-Metai community started on 3 May 2023, which continues today. More than 300 people have died in these two years. More than 1500 were injured. More than 70 thousand people are displaced. More than 6 thousand FIRs have been registered.
On Saturday, the Maetai Group Coordination Committee Manipur Integrity (COCCOMI) and Jomi Students Union (ZSF), Cookie Students’ Organization (KSO) in the Metai controlled Imphal Valley called the bandh in the hill districts. During this period, all school-colleges, government offices and other institutions remained closed in the entire state.
The Cookie community celebrated today as a day of isolation. In view of the tension in the state, security forces have made strict security arrangements in Imphal, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.
Jairam Ramesh wrote- Manipur’s pain and suffering continues
Ramesh wrote in the X post- BJP formed a government in Manipur in February 2022 with a huge mandate and communal violence erupted in the state exactly two years ago. The suffering and suffering of the state is still going on. Political sports are being played. No meaningful reconciliation process is going on. More than 60 thousand people are displaced. People are living in relief camps in a state of very stress.
He said that the PM did not meet anyone in the state, he has roamed all over the world, but he has neither got time to visit this endless state and meet the people there, neither has the desire nor sensitivity to them.
Ramesh said that Manipur deserves a better situation than this. The people of Manipur are waiting for the Prime Minister to come to Imphal and visit the beautiful state and console people. At least to the extent they are capable of doing so.
20 km flag march of security forces
A day before the second anniversary of the Manipur violence (May 2), the security forces conducted a flag march. DIG Sushankar Upadhyay of the 34 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had said that this flag march will create a trust in the people. People will feel that there is a neutral (not in favor of anyone) to overcome the situation.
DIG Upadhyay had also told that 1000 soldiers attended the flag march. We organized it in Coordination with the Imphal police. We took out a march of about 20 km. We wanted to warn a kind of faith and miscreants in people.
