Rabada Doping Ban: South Africa star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is now ready to return to cricket. After failing in the dope test, the period of one month ban on him has been completed. Now he can be seen in the playing XI of Gujarat Titans (GT) against Mumbai Indians (Mi) on 6 May.

Kagiso Rabada was suspended for three months due to doping violations during the SA20 2025, but he participated in the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) rehab and Awareness program, which reduced the ban to just one month.

The dope test was held on 21 January, when Rabada Mi Cape Town and Durban played in the super gynts match. He was told the result of this test on 1 April, when he was playing for the Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025 in India. Two days later, Rabada returned to South Africa citing personal reasons.

Now he has completed his suspension and is fully fit to play again. This is a big relief for GT as the team is fighting to make it to the top-2 in IPL 2025. Currently, the team is in fourth place with 14 points and Rabada’s return can make the playoff’s way easier.

Rabada will be available for South Africa not only in the IPL but also in the World Test Championship final against Australia next month. He took 47 wickets in this bicycle and has been the top performance of the team.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) described the incident as “regrettable”, but also said that Rabada showed responsibility, apologized and completed the necessary rehab program, so the matter has been abolished here.

Rabada said a few days ago, “I apologize to all I disappointed. It is a good fortune for me to play cricket, which I will never take lightly.”

Now it has to be seen whether he returns to full speed against Mumbai Indians in Wankhede on 6 May.
