Chardham Yatra starts in Uttarakhand. On this special occasion, a huge crowd of devotees is being seen in Kedarnath Dham. The doors of Kedarnath temple were opened for devotees on 2 May. After this, the figures of visitors have crossed one lakh in the first four days of the yatra.

Kedarnath Dham, located in Rudraprayag district, is situated at an altitude of 11,000 feet above sea level and is considered to be the most difficult. Despite this, there is an influx of devotees. According to official data, more than 31,000 devotees visited this holy abode of Lord Shiva on the very first day. At the same time, this figure increased to 1,05,879 in four days of the journey. On Monday, 26,180 devotees visited Baba Kedar.

“The number of devotees every year is increasing”

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Kedarnath Dham is a major center of Sanatan Dharma as well as a symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. He said about the increasing number of devotees, “The number of devotees is increasing every year and with the blessings of Baba Kedar this year, the yatra will set a new record this year.”

Redevelopment of Kedarnath Dham

CM Dhami said, “Kedarnath Dham has been redeveloped under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, providing better facilities to the devotees.” The state government has made extensive arrangements to ensure safe, easy and convenient journey of devotees, including better roadways, helicopter services and other security measures.
