Karan Johar is suffering from thyroid
Karan said that a big turn in his life came when he came to know about the problem of thyroid. He told, “There was actually a fluctuating thyroid, which I will not tell in detail … but I had to take something to control that level.” He did not know that he was suffering from the disease for nearly 15–20 years, despite that he fought several struggles to control his weight.
Omad method followed for 7 months
Karan also discussed about trying many medical remedies including Vedam Ayurveda and health spa before finding an effective routine for himself. Once his thyroid level stabilized, Karan began to follow the method of OMAD (once a day). The first seven days were difficult, but he followed this routine for seven months and during this time a meal once every day between 7 and 8 pm.
Allergies to gluten
During this time his diet did not contain gluten, lactose or sugar. He told that he has some problems with lactose, but he likes almond milk more. Although he has recently included some carbs and dairy (such as rice and lactose) to achieve healthy weight, they avoid gluten completely. Karan also stated that his current fitness routine includes playing weight training and paddle.
