A bell weighing one and a half ton was installed in the Buddha temple of Lumbini.
Kathmandu, 28 November (HS). A bell weighing 1500 kg i.e. one and a half tonne has been installed in the Buddha temple of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. This hour of pilgrims from South Korea was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Sudan Kiranti, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Nepal, inaugurated the bell during a ceremony held in Lumbini. Korean Buddhist religious leaders and Buddhist monks and nuns were present. This hour has been named ‘Peace Hour’. In the inauguration ceremony, the Culture Minister said that the sound of this bell will send a message of peace. Minister Kiranti expressed his gratitude to Korean religious leaders and Buddhist monks for donating the construction of this huge bell.
