A commitment of Rs 3 lakh crore has come before the Investors Summit
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday made an important announcement related to the northeastern states. He said that a new investment of 2.5 to 3 lakh crore rupees is likely in the coming time in the northeastern states. This investment is a major achievement for the development of the northeastern region. Minister of North Eastern Region Development Affairs Scindia said that his ministry had recently organized 9 road show programs, which received an investment commitment of Rs 1.12 lakh crore. He clarified that this investment commitment is not part of any investment already declared, but it is a completely new investment.
Rising North-East Investors Summit 2025
The announcement was made at an event organized to give information about the ‘Rising North-East Investors Summit 2025’ to be held on May 23-24. The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is dedicated to the development of the northeastern states. Scindia hoped that the number of investment proposals would increase further by the end of the summit on 24 May. He said that 6 large industrial houses and public sector undertakings are also planned to invest, due to which the total investment is likely to reach between Rs 2.5 to 3 lakh crore.
Meetings held with big business groups
Separate meetings have been held with big groups like Tata Group, Reliance Industries, Aditya Birla Group to attract investment in the northeastern region. After the summit, the Ministry will work with the investment propaganda officers established by the North Eastern states for the implementation of investment proposals. Scindia insisted, “We will stand shoulder to shoulder with investors and the state government to turn these commitments into reality.” This investment will accelerate the economic development of the northeastern states and create new employment opportunities in the region.
