A magical ball from Stokes stopped Jaiswal’s storm, stumps scattered after a century; VIDEO
Yashasvi Jaiswal made India a tremendous start by scoring a century against England on the first day of the Hadingley Test, but his stormy journey stopped in a shock. English captain Ben Stokes threw such a magical delivery off the third ball of the 53rd over that the bat of century was missed and the ball went directly to the stumps. Jaiswal’s 101 -run innings was excellent, but the manner in which his innings ended surprised everyone.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who came out to start India’s innings against England on the first day of the Handingley Test, had shown from the first over that he is going to do something special today. He shared a 91 -run partnership with KL Rahul, which was India’s fourth largest opening partnership in the first innings of the first Test on foreign tours.
Jaiswal did not stop even after Rahul was dismissed. He completed his century in 96 balls and then 144 balls. The special thing about this century innings was that Jaiswal made most of the run of side and impressed everyone with his classic batting, while on the leg side he scored very few runs. After completing the century, Jaiswal’s celebration was worth watching, the dressing room gave a standing ovation. But happiness did not last long.
On the third ball of the 53rd over, Ben Stokes threw a length ball, which was a slight move. Jaiswal tried to play directly but remained a gap between the bat and the ball. The ball entered the stumps and Jaiswal had to return to the pavilion on a score of 101. In this innings adorned with 16 fours and 1 six, Jaiswal showed that he can control the match on England soil too. Even though his wicket is a shock by Stokes, this century will be remembered for a long time.

Talking about the match, India’s upper hand was heavy in the second session on the first day of the Handingley Test. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a tremendous century and did not let the English bowlers stand together with captain Shubman Gill. There was a century partnership between the two and India scored 215 runs for 2 wickets till tea.
