Berlin: A fierce fire broke out on Saturday night at a hospital in Hamburg, a city of Hamburg, Germany, killing 3 patients, while more than 50 people were injured. The condition of two of them is said to be critical. Local authorities gave this information on Sunday. The accident occurred at Marine Krankenhouse Hospital. The fire started from a room in the geiatric ward (ward of old patients) on the ground floor and spread to the upper floors, which filled the four floors.
Vigilance saved many lives
The vigilance of the employees and the fire department saved many lives. More than 50 are injured in the incident, out of which 2 have been in critical and 16 have serious injuries and 36 have suffered minor injuries. The fire department informed that the fire was controlled in about 20 minutes. The injured were sent to other parts of the hospital and nearby medical centers for quick treatment. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet. According to the German news agency DPA, the authorities have started an investigation and the forensic team has been engaged to find out the real cause of the fire. (AP)
