About 9 people have died due to lightning in different areas of Odisha. Officials said at least 9 people, including six women, were killed and some other people were injured in separate incidents due to lightning in the state. 3 people died in Koraaput district, 2-2 people have died in Jajpur and Ganjam. At the same time, 1-1 people have died in Dhankanal and Gajapati districts. Three women lost their lives among those who died. At the same time, an elder has been injured due to lightning in Laxmipur.

9 people died due to lightning

According to sources, people who died due to lightning. They were all members of the same family. When lightning fell, they were working in the fields and the temporary huts took shelter, as it was raining and strong winds were blowing. A police officer said that celestial lightning fell on the hut and the three women died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Bruhi Mandlinga (60), his granddaughter Kasa Mandinga (18), and Ambika Kashi (35) of Kumbarguda village. He said that Bruhi and Casa Mandinga were residents of Paridigud.

Two children also died

Another 65 -year -old man, who has been identified as Hung Mandinga. He was injured due to lightning fall. In this incident, the elderly have suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. At the same time, 2 boys died due to electricity in Jajpur district. Those dead have been identified as Taare Hembram (15) and Tukulu Chatar (12) of Burusahi village. The official said that a case of unnatural death has been registered in connection with the incident and further investigation is going on.
