South Africa Champions have won the World Championship of Legends title due to AB de Villiers’ stormy century. The African team defeated Pakistan Champions by 9 wickets in the final. De Villiers scored 120 runs off just 60 balls while performing the match on Sunday, August 2. Thanks to his innings, Africa Champions won the trophy of the World Championship of Legends by nine wickets, chasing a target of 196 runs in 16.5 overs.

In this match played at Edgbaston, Birmingham, De Villiers started the innings and hit 12 fours and 7 sixes. He shared a 72 -run partnership with Hashim Amla (who scored 18 off 14 balls) in the first six overs. He then confirmed an unbeaten partnership of 125 runs with Jean-Poly Duminy (who scored an unbeaten 50 off 28 balls).

This was the third century of De Villiers in WCL 2025. Earlier, he scored a century against England Champions and 39 balls against Australia Champions. Talking about Pakistan’s innings, Shaziil Khan of Pakistan Champions scored 76 off 44 balls, which managed to reach the score of 195/5 in 20 overs.

After the first innings it seemed that Pakistan had made a big score and it would not be easy for the African team to achieve this goal but De Villiers’ innings not only made the match easy but also made unilateral for the African team. De Villiers was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant innings and was also voted for a brilliant performance throughout the tournament.
