Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings postponed for the whole day

New Delhi: The proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were repeatedly interrupted due to uproar by opposition members on Tuesday and was finally postponed for the whole day. Opposition parties created a ruckus in the House demanding discussions on issues such as special intensive revision (SIR), Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in Bihar. Due to this, the proceedings were postponed for the whole day.

What happened in Lok Sabha?

The Lok Sabha proceedings started at 11 am, but the opposition members started shouting slogans. Due to the uproar, the House had to be postponed twice – first till 12 noon and then till 2 pm. Eventually, the proceedings were postponed till 11 am on Wednesday amidst noise. The uproar caused neither zero hour nor Question Hour.

The same situation in Rajya Sabha

As soon as the proceedings started in the Rajya Sabha at 11 am, Deputy Chairman Harivansh placed the necessary documents on the table. He said that the opposition members had given 12 notices to discuss the SIR, Pahalgam attack and other issues, one of which CPI member P Sandosh Kumar had given Vice President Dhankhar to discuss the resignation of Dhankhar. All notices were rejected. After this, the opposition members started shouting slogans and some members reached the posture. The Deputy Chairman appealed to the members to maintain peace, but the House had to be postponed by 12 noon when the ruckus did not stop.

What is the main reason for uproar?

Opposition parties, especially the Congress, have strongly objected to the special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. He says that there is a lack of transparency in this process and it should be discussed immediately. In addition, the opposition also raised issues like Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation, Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
