Action on Kohli’s pub in Bengaluru, Smoke Zone was not

In Bengaluru, action has been taken on cricketer Virat Kohli’s One 8 Commune Pub and Restaurant. The police on Tuesday registered an FIR against the manager and staff due to lack of smoking zone in the pub. Virat’s One 8 Commune is located on Pub MG Road.

Police said that the rules of COTPA Act (Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act) were being violated in the pub. FIR has been registered under sections 4 and 21 of the Act. Under the COTPA Act, it is necessary to create separate smoking zones in public places like hotels, restaurants, airports.

Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune also has branches in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata. The branch of Bengaluru was opened in December 2023, on the sixth floor of the Ratnam complex. Virat had said in an interview that Bengaluru is his favorite city, so he opened the branch here.

Last year, FIR was done on the pub opening till late night
In July 2024, an FIR was lodged in One 8 Commune Pub for playing music in loud voice till late night. DGP Central had said that the team of Kabban Park Police Station had gone out on patrolling on the night of 6 July.

The forest was then found open till 8 pm. The manager of the pub was opened in the wrong way. There is permission to open the pub till 1 pm in Bengaluru. Therefore action was taken against the pub.

Virat Kohli, one of the best batsmen in the world, has put an end to his 14 -year international test career. He announced his retirement from Test cricket on 12 May. He will continue to play ODI cricket right now. Apart from cricket records, Kohli’s name is also counted in the list of the world’s richest players. He is the second richest cricketer in the country after Sachin Tendulkar.
