Filmmaker Mohit Suri is enjoying the success of his recently released film ‘Syyara’ these days. Which stars new artists Ahaan Pandey and Anit Dadda in the lead roles. Director has often said that he was about to reject Ahaan for Krish Kapoor’s character. However, his attitude changed when Ahaan showed his negligence, then he saw the real character in him. Similarly, Mohit Suri also shared an interesting story behind casting Aditya Roy Kapoor for ‘Aashiqui 2’. He remembered that the actor’s careless behavior had angered his colleagues, however, Suri felt something different.
Revealed Aashiqui-2 himself
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Mohit Suri recalled how Aditya Roy Kapoor came from unaware for the audition of ‘Aashiqui 2’. He said that initially a nationwide talent hunt was organized to search for new faces for the film. However, it proved to be a major failure. ‘Then suddenly, one of my assistants called Aditya Roy Kapoor. I think Aditya did not even know who I am. He did not know anything. I think Ranbir (Kapoor) said to him, ‘Go meet him, he is a good director. Aditya came into shorts, socks and a shirt. And while I was talking to him, he was walking on a walking chair. ‘ He further revealed that his friends were ‘angry’ and he thought his behavior non-pedestrian. However, Mohit Suri was sure that he had seen his character Rahul Jayakar getting alive. Mohit Suri said, ‘All my assistants were very angry and wondering what kind of behavior it is. But this idea came to my mind- this man has come here on a bike. If this man came to the range rover, he would have been my character, Rahul Jayakar. So I believe that the best casting is when the camera is not running. ‘
Aashiqui 2 made Aditya a star
Aashiqui 2, in which Aditya and Shraddha Kapoor were in the lead roles, directed by Mohit Suri and were produced by Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumar and Krishna Kumar under the banner of Special Films and T-Series Films. The film focused on a turbulent love affair between unsuccessful singer Rahul Jayakar and emerging singer Arohi Keshav Shirke. The film was released in 2013 and achieved great success at the box office.
