ACB Announced Asia Cup 2025 Afghanistan Squad: The Afghanistan cricket team has announced its 17 -member final team before the start of Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will start from 9 September and the first match will be played between Afghanistan and Hong Kong at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The team will once again be in the hands of star all -rounder Rashid Khan. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been appointed as vice-captains.

Let us know that the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) had earlier released the preliminary list of 22 players on August 5. Now 17 players have been selected for the final team from that list. Rashid Khan has last captained the Afghanistan team in December 2024 and once again he has been given the reins of the team in this important tournament.

Afghanistan will play tri-series before Asia Cup

The Afghanistan team will also play Tri-Series against UAE and Pakistan to further improve their preparations for the Asia Cup. The series will begin in Sharjah from 29 August and its finals will be played on 7 September. The board has reported that most of the players of the preliminary team will participate in this series.

  • 20-26 September: Super-4 match (Abu Dhabi and Dubai)
  • 28 September: Final (Dubai)
