Team india sponsor: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision to end its agreement with fantasy gaming company Dream 11. This step has been taken after the recently passed promotion and regulation of online gaming bill, 2025 by the Central Government. Under this new law, online games with money have been completely banned, after which Dream 11 (Dream11) announced to close all its paid contests.
Confirming this in a conversation with news agency ANI, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “Relations between BCCI and Dream 11 are ending after the online gaming bill is passed. We will not compromise with any such organization in future.”
Who will become a new title sponsor?
Now the big question is, who will replace Dream 11 (Dream11)? According to media reports, Japan’s famous automobile company Toyota Motor Corporation and an Indian fintech startup are at the forefront of this race. However, the official tender process has not started yet by the BCCI. Let us know that Toyota is the title sponsor of the England cricket team.
End of 358 crore deal with Dream11
Significantly, Dream 11 (Dream11) signed a three -year agreement with BCCI in July 2023. The deal was around Rs 358 crore. Earlier, this responsibility was with Edtech company Bayju, whose contract was ending in March 2023. Dream 11 has been a sponsor not only of the Indian team, but also many IPL franchises.
BCCI challenge before Asia Cup
The biggest challenge for BCCI is to decide on the new title sponsor before the Asia Cup 2025. The tournament will begin on 9 September at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and will run till 28 September. India will play its first match against the host UAE on 10 September. At the same time, the eyes of cricket lovers will be on the India-Pakistan match to be held in Dubai on 14 September.
If the BCCI is unable to make a new agreement on time, Team India may have to play in the Asia Cup without any title sponsors. In such a situation, the income of the board can be affected a lot.
