Election Commission wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi.

Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has again made serious allegations against the Election Commission. Rahul cited the Lok Sabha elections and showed the voter list of a assembly segment of a Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka that the Election Commission is affecting the election results by disturbing the voter list and helping the BJP win. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission has made all these disturbances to win the BJP.

Commission took a tough stand

The Election Commission has taken a tough stand on the accusation of disturbances in the voter list in Karnataka today. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Karnataka has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi in this case and has asked him to give a certificate to the voters whose names have been alleged to have disturbed the address and identity. The CEO of Karnataka has also written in this letter that the draft role of the voter list under the process was given to the Congress party in November 2024 and the final voter list in January 2025 but the Congress party did not complain about it, no appeal. Even after the election, no complaints were made within forty -five days and now after a year, Rahul Gandhi is accusing the voter list of disturbances.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka also made it clear that time was sought from the Election Commission by the State Unit of the Congress. No one was given the time of the first August 6. Now August 8, that is, yesterday’s time was given, but before that today, Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission by holding a press conference. Therefore, the Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra and Haryana has also written a letter to Rahul Gandhi and asked him to give proof of disturbances with the affidavit.

CEO of UP also replied

When Rahul Gandhi was talking about duplicate voters in his press conference today, he mentioned two voters of UP Aditya Srivastava and Vishal Singh. Rahul Gandhi claimed that Aditya Srivastava is named in the voter list of four places, out of which Lucknow is also in Lucknow. Apart from this, Vishal Singh’s name is also recorded in Varanasi, UP besides Karnataka. But after Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, the Chief Electoral Officer of UP rejected these claims. The CEO of UP said that neither Aditya Srivastava is named in Lucknow’s voter list nor Vishal Singh’s name is in Varanasi’s voter list. Rahul Gandhi’s claim is wrong.

What did CEO of Maharashtra say?

The Chief Electoral Office of Maharashtra (@ceo_maharashtra) has written a letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi requesting the signed announcement and oath signed, including the names of the voters concerned under Rule 20 (3) (b) of the Voter Registration Rules, 1960 so that necessary action can be initiated. The Office of Maharashtra has written a letter to the Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. This letter states- “It is learned that in a press conference held today, you mentioned the inclusion of ineligible voters in the voter list and excluding eligible voters. You are requested to sign the attached announcement/oath and send it back with the names of such voters so that necessary action can be initiated.”
