Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan in action mode for farmers, these strict instructions given to the states
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan On Sunday, asked all states and union territories to take immediate and strict action against the sale of fake and inferior fertilizers. In a letter to the Chief Ministers, Chauhan has asked them to regular monitoring of fertilizer production and sales as well as samples of fake and substandard products. “Forced tagging on Nano-fertilizers with traditional fertilizers should be stopped immediately,” he said. The Union Minister said that strict legal action should be taken, including cancellation of license against the culprits and filing FIRs and effective prosecution should be ensured to ensure conviction. States have been instructed to develop feedback and information systems to include farmers and farming groups in the monitoring process and make special efforts to educate farmers about identifying real-fake products.
Asked to start a statewide campaign
The minister urged all the states to start a statewide campaign as per the above instructions to eliminate the problem of fake and inferior agricultural inputs. He further said that regular monitoring of this work at the state level will lead to an effective and permanent solution in the interest of farmers. Chauhan emphasized the need to provide fertilizer at the right time, affordable prices and standard quality fertilizers, as agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy. According to the official statement, “This letter has been issued with the aim of curbing illegal activities like sales of fake fertilizers, black marketing of subsidized fertilizers and forcible tagging across the country.” The Union Minister stated that the sale of fake or inferior fertilizers is banned under fertilizer (control) order, 1985, which falls under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
No business of farming benefits without animal husbandry
Recently, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had said that animal husbandry is very important and without it farming cannot become a business of profit. Chauhan said, farming cannot be beneficial without animal husbandry, so it is still important today and further work needs to be done. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the powerful, developed India’s campaign is going on, in which animal husbandry has a major contribution.
