Air India aircraft- AI171 crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Thursday. The aircraft left for London Gatwick from Ahmedabad at 1:38 am on Thursday. Air India flight AI171, which is a Boeing 787-8 aircraft, flew from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick and crashed shortly after. The aircraft had 242 passengers and crew members. Of these, 169 are Indian citizens, 53 are British citizens, 1 Canadian citizens and 7 Portuguese citizens.

As the situation is getting clear, I am being updated. In this very sad time my condolences are with passengers and their families.”

What did Canada’s PM say?

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has also tweeted on the incident. He said- “I am shocked to hear the news of Air India aircraft crashed in London in Ahmedabad. The aircraft had 242 passengers – including a Canadian. My condolences are with the loved ones of all the people in the aircraft. Canada’s transport officers are in close contact with my counterparts and I am receiving regular updates about the response to this tragic …”
