Air India aircraft carrying MPs, Venugopal said- We avoid fate
KC Venugopal was riding on Air India flight.
An Air India aircraft coming from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi was sent to Chennai on Sunday night. The reason for this is due to technical disturbances and bad weather by the airlines. Flight AI2455 operated by Airbus A320 aircraft remained in the air for more than two hours. The airline said in a statement, “The crew of AI2455, which flew from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on August 10, turned the aircraft towards Chennai due to suspected technical problems and bad weather on the route.”
5 MPs were going to Delhi
According to information received from flight -radar 24, the aircraft flew from Thiruvananthapuram after 8 pm and reached Chennai at around 10.35 pm. Please tell that 5 MPs in this aircraft- KC Venugopal, Kodikkunil Suresh, Adour Prakash, K.K. Radhakrishnan and Robert Bruce were going to Delhi. After landing, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal described the incident as ‘narrowly escapes’ from a major accident.
KC Venugopal made 3 hours of dreadful condition
He said in a post on social media platform x, “Air India flight AI2455, which was going from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi, was aboard the accident today. The flight first began late. Shortly after flying, there was a strong shock. About an hour later, the captain said that the flight has a signal malfunction and is being diverted to Chennai. For about two hours, we kept circling the Chennai Airport. A scary moment came to an attempt to land for the first time when it was discovered that there was another aircraft on the runway. The captain immediately lifted the aircraft, which saved everyone’s life. In the second attempt, the flight landed safely. We survived the pilot’s understanding and luck. The safety of passengers cannot be left to luck. I urge the DGCA and the Civil Aviation Ministry to investigate the incident immediately, decide the responsibility and make sure that such a lapse never happens again. ”
What did Air India respond?
At the same time, Air India wrote in response to KC Venugopal’s post on X, “We want to clarify that the decision to divert flights towards Chennai was taken as caution. Because the aircraft had technical problems and bad weather conditions. During the first landing attempt at Chennai Airport, Chennai Air Traffic Control (ATC) directed Go-Around. This was not due to the runway of another aircraft. ”
