Air India started Boeing 787’s refurbition program, airline reached America
Tata group The airline company Air India has sent its first Boeing 787 Dreamline to the US for airplane refurbition. Let us tell you that this refurbition program of Air India was being planned for a long time, under which the airline company has sent its first aircraft for repair. This initiative of Air India focuses on months planning, removing delay in delivery and improving the experience of wide-body cabin.
Refurbishment work will be done for $ 400 million
Air India’s refurbition program is an upgrade of $ 400 million, under which 40 aircraft with wide bodies are to be repaired. It includes Boeing 787-8 and 777 as well as 27 Airbus A320NE Naro-Body plane. The Naro-Body Plane included in Air India’s fleet is also upgraded and some A320NEO has already been repaired. After which, now Air India is focused on Dreamliners.
These important work will be done in the refurbition program
This refurbition program will include new-designed business class cabins, including a specific premium economy class and new economy seating with a lie-flat bed. Talking about the interior, it includes new carpets, seat fabric, toilet, lighting and new branding. These things will help in making Fleet like Standard of Air India’s new Airbus A350. Air India aims to referred at least 2-3 wide-body plane every month. The company wants to complete this refurbition program by mid -2027.
These planes are included in Boeing’s wide body aircraft
Boeing’s Wide Body Aircraft includes 747, 767, 777 and 787. In the horrific accident in Ahmedabad on June 12, only 787 aircraft of Boeing were involved. In that accident, a total of 242 passengers and crew members crashed the plane from Ahmedabad to London within a few minutes. Only one passenger survived in this accident and all 241 passengers and crew members were killed.
