This service will start very soon in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore. For this, IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe Enterprises has held talks with America’s electric vertical take off and landing aircraft Archer Aviation. Both the companies are planning to start this taxi service in the country in 2026.

These air taxis can run at a speed of 180 miles per hour at an altitude of about 1,000 to 2,000 feet. Helicopters like multicopter, vectored thrust and lift plus cruise will be used for air taxi. In which 3 to 4 passengers will be able to travel at a time. Multicopters look exactly like helicopters. They do not have wings and fly short distances. Vectored thrust and lift cruise combines rotors and wings.

It is being told that the fare of these air taxis will be higher initially. Their fare can be up to 30 thousand rupees in Indian rupees, but later if the experiment is successful and considering the Indian market, it is expected to be reduced. Currently, 200 Archer Electric Midnight aircraft have been ordered for this service.
