Meanwhile, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has reached Moscow to strengthen relations between Russia and India. Although this journey of Doval was already decided, now it has become even more important due to the comments made by Trump on India’s relations with Russia.

President Doval will meet Putin

According to Russian media, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will also hold a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Russia. During this time there will also be talks with other Russian leaders to improve strategic partnership and bilateral relations. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar can also visit Russia next week.

Russia issued a statement in favor of India

Russia has issued a statement in favor of India regarding Doval’s visit to Moscow. The Kremlin accused the US of putting improper pressure on India to buy oil from Russia. Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said without naming a country that we have heard some statements which are really like a threat. In these, countries are being pressurized to end their business relations with Russia. We do not consider such statements as legal.

Important meeting between India-Russia

Meanwhile, India’s Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar has met the country’s Deputy Defense Minister Colonel-General Alexander Fomein. During the meeting, the two countries have reiterated their commitment to promote bilateral defense cooperation. According to a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Indian envoy met Colonel-General Fomine, who is in charge of international defense cooperation. The statement said that during the conversation, the two sides discussed in detail the issues related to mutual cooperation in the defense sector and especially confirmed their intentions to strengthen this cooperation as part of a strategic partnership. The meeting is held at a time when US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose strict ban on India on purchasing crude oil from Russia.
