Akash Chopra took Karun Nair on target – Cricket has given another chance, but could not play

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Akash Chopra has expressed concern over Karun Nair’s IPL 2025 form. Nair has flopped continuously after a bang of 89 runs against Mumbai Indians. In the match played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 29, he was able to score only 15 runs (13 balls), and Delhi Capitals lost the match by 14 runs.
Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “Cricket has given Karun Nair a second chance but he did not take advantage of it. Apart from a good innings and some run out, he has not done anything special yet. There is a chance to bat in an important place like No.3, yet big innings are not coming.”
Chopra also questioned the captaincy and strategy of Delhi Capitals. He said that Akshar Patel did not use the spin in the powerplay despite winning the toss, which made Sunil Narayan and Gurbaz turn the match in the initial overs.
He also told that it was a big lapse to not get the entire quota to Taker like Kuldeep Yadav. “Did not spin in the first 6 overs, then put 10 overs spin together. This also caused damage,” Chopra said.
Chopra believes that the weaknesses of the Delhi team are now looking clear and leave the top-2 in the points table, to reach the playoffs, the team will have to win their remaining matches, which is not easy.
