Its intensity was recorded at 6.0 on the Richter scale. Its center was 81 km southwest of Akazutla in Al Salvador and 107 km south-south-south-south-south of Guatemala.

There was a stir in Akajutla

Akajutla is the major commercial port of Al Salvador and is also used by cruise ships. During the earthquake, there was a panic in Akazutla.
