The world’s well-known entrepreneur Alan Musk’s satellite internet company Starlink is now going to start its services in India. The Government of India has approved Starlink to provide satellite based broadband service. The company will now resort to Aadhaar authentication to identify customers. According to PTI news, according to an official statement released on Wednesday, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has Starlink Satellite Communications PVT. Ltd. Has been included on its platform. This will help Starlink to verify customers’ identity digital and safely.

Onboarding process will be fast and safe

The statement said that Starlink’s user onboarding process from the base-based e-KYC will be fast, simple and safe. This technical partnership will give a new height to digital connectivity in the country. According to government estimates, Starlink is currently capable of serving around 2 million Indian customers. Starlink has been appointed as a sub-authentication user agency and sub-eKYC user agency on behalf of UIDAI. UIDAI CEO Bhuvanesh Kumar, Deputy Director General Manish Bhardwaj, and Director of Starlink India Parnil Urdhvarshe were present on the occasion.

License from in‑space and dot

Starlink has partnered with major telecom companies like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio to bring its services to customers in India. Earlier, Starlink has received licenses from In‑space and Dot to start service in India. Indian Space Regulatory IN‑SPACE has allowed Starlink 5 years, under which the company can start satellite-based internet service in the country. Despite this, spectrum allocation, security testing, and ground networks are yet to be completed.

Will be able to call even without network

Starlink satellite service will be possible to call even without mobile network in the event of emergency. Users will also get high speed internet facility. Starlink service can cost up to Rs 3,300 every month. Alan Musk’s company will provide internet service through the satellites installed in the lower meaning orbit of Spacex.
