Amarnath Yatra 2025: Amarnath will not be able to go by helicopter, security chalk, Omar Abdullah angry
New Delhi. In view of security, the Amarnath Yatra area has been declared a no flying zone. After this, an order issued by the Home Department said that there will be a ban on any type of air flight including unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), drones, balloons in the journey. Since this order, helicopter services will not be available for passengers on traditional Baltal and Pahalgam tracks. Pilgrims will have to either walk the holy cave or reach through pony or palanquin. This is the first time that pilgrims will not get chopper service during the entire journey. These security instructions will be applicable from 01 July to 10 August.
Omar Abdullah raised the verdict:
Regarding this decision, CM Omar Abdullah said, Amarnath Yatra is a good thing. We also want Amarnath Yatra to be done properly. Only one thing looks a bit strange that this time the helicopter service is not being allowed. Its wrong message is also going to the rest of the countries. CM further said, now I do not have intelligence to be taken on which this decision was taken, but I think this is the first time after so many years that helicopters are not being allowed from Pahalgam and Baltal. Its wrong message should not go to the rest of the countries by quoting Jammu and Kashmir.
Safety Chalk:
Security for the first Amarnath Yatra falling after terrorist attack and operation vermilion in Pahalgam is being tightened. In view of this, the area has been declared a no flying zone. With the aim of strengthening the security system of Shri Amarnath Yatra Marg, the entire journey will be no flying zone from July 1 to August 10.
During the tension between India and Pakistan, a large number of drones were used in Indian territory from across the border, which was demolished by India’s air defense system. The Union Home Ministry has advised to declare the journey route as a no flying zone in view of security. On this, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department, was ordered to declare the Yatra route as a flight prohibited area. No flying zone ban will not be applicable on medical clearance, disaster management and monitoring of security forces. A detailed standard operation process (SOP) will be released for such disasters.
The Amarnath Yatra will start from 3 July and run till 9 August. The traditional Pahalgam route of the yatra is about 32 km from Nunwan Base Camp and 14 km from Baltal Marg Base Camp is the court of Baba Barfani. In view of security, 580 companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) are being deployed in the Amarnath Yatra. So far 3.5 lakh passengers have registered advance passengers.
Every day about 100 buses of JKSRTC (Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation) will leave for Kashmir from the passenger residence and other places in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The batch consists of vehicles of devotees traveling on both Baltal and Pahalgam routes. These buses are both AC and non -AC. Last year, non -AC bus fare for Baltal route from Jammu was fixed at Rs 653 and AC bus was fixed at Rs 818. At the same time, Rs 404 was fixed for semi deluxe bus from Pahalgam, Rs 553 for non -AC bus super deluxe and Rs 840 for AC bus.
