Amarnath Yatra postponed for 2 days due to bad weather, school colleges closed in Rajouri and Poonch

Amarnath yatra suspended: The yatra has been stopped on Wednesday from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes for the holy cave of Amarnath Yatra. The Shrine Board has taken this decision in view of bad weather, while schools and colleges have been closed today due to bad weather in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Information and Public Relations Department, due to heavy rains since morning, Shri Amarnathji Yatra has been postponed from both Pahalgam and Baltal (Pahalgam and Baltal). The Amarnath Yatra was also stopped on 17 July: Earlier on July 17, the Amarnath Yatra was stopped. During that time, officials said that the yatra has been postponed due to heavy rains in the valley for the last 36 hours. Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bhiduri said that the Shri Amarnathji Yatra from both Pahalgam and Baltal Aadhaar camps has been adjourned till July 17. No travel convoy will go from Bhagwati Nagar Camp, Jammu: Officials said that therefore no journey will go from Bhagwati Nagar Camp, Jammu on 31 July. Meanwhile, due to bad weather, the authorities on Wednesday ordered the closure of all government and private schools in Poonch and Rajouri districts. In Poonch, the Chief Education Officer said that in view of the current weather situation, all educational institutions including government and private schools will remain closed on 30 July 2025 as a precaution. The schools were ordered to be closed after the Deputy Commissioner’s instructions in Rajouri. The Chief Education Officer issued a circular saying that all government and private schools across the district will remain closed that day.
