American start-up company Skydweller has created a surveillance aircraft that can fly continuously on the ground for 90 days. The size of electric drones made of this carbon-fiber is as large as 747 aircraft. The company that makes it claims that the first milestone of this drone has been set to fly for three consecutive months. However, this aircraft has a capacity to fly continuously without landing on the ground. This drone takes energy from sunlight, due to which it does not need to land again.

Use of solar energy

Earlier in May, the British jet Zephyr set a world record by flying in the sky for 67 days. This jet flight flew continuously for 1,608 hours. This surveillance drone of the start-up company has 17,000 solar cells. These solar panels are on a 270 square meter of the aircraft i.e. 2,900 square feet wing, which converts sunlight to solar energy.

The wing of Boeing 747 is 236 feet in length. Despite being a wing with a large aircraft length, the aircraft of the startup company is 160 times less than the Boeing aircraft. The company claims that these solar cells present in this surveillance drone can generate electricity of 100 kW. This aircraft will be able to generate at least 100 kW of electricity in clouds or any other condition.

This aircraft has a 635 kg battery, which helps in flying the aerkrap at night. In the day time, this aircraft can reach a height of up to 44,600 feet. At the same time, at night, this aircraft flies at a height of 4,900 feet, so that power can be saved. Automatic gast load elevation software is used to control it. Through this, aerodynamics loads of aircraft can be reduced so that turbulance can be prevented.

Software will control

It has a sophisticated vehicle management system (VMS) software, which will help it stay in the air for 90 days. If for some reason the onboard system fails, the backup system will help the flight to fly in the air. The VMS has a complex computer algorithm, which can automatically find a problem and fix it. It can also be called onboard IT Spasalist.
