Ambani joins COP28 advisory committee, will give advice on climate change
Mukesh Ambani, chief of Reliance Industries Limited, has been included in the advisory committee of the Climate Change Conference. This committee will work to guide and advise the Presidency of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28).
Ambani is promoting renewable energy under Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and diversifying from its traditional crude oil refining and petrochemicals businesses. He is one of the 31 international experts on the committee.
The Consultative Committee of COP28, chaired by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will include climate experts from all parts of the world. COP28, chaired by the UAE, said on its website that 65 percent of the people in the committee are from the Global South (least developed and developing countries).

Besides Ambani, the committee includes BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Siemens’ supervisory board chairman Joe Kaiser, Crescent Petroleum chairman Badr Jaffer, former BP chief Bob Dudley and China Petrochemical Corporation’s Fu Chengyu. Apart from this, environment expert Sunita Narayan is also included in the committee.
