Washington: The US has issued an official notification to impose an additional 25% tariff on India. US President Donald Trump had threatened to impose 50% tariffs on Indian imports on India from 27 August. Half of the 50% charges levied by Trump on Indian imports came into force earlier this month and the remaining half of the fees are scheduled to be implemented from Wednesday. The notification states that the increase in tariff will be implemented on August 27, 2025 at 12:01 pm or after.
This reason was given to impose additional tariffs on India
Trump said that India had to buy Russian oil due to double increase in tariffs. He had said in an order, “I believe that India, which imports oil from Russian directly or indirectly.
