Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Saturday reacted to the appointment of Sergio Gore as the new Ambassador of America in India and described it as “good” that the post lying vacant for a long time is finally being filled. Tharoor’s comment has come in response to a post posted on the social media platform X by Indian -origin venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani. Motwani appreciated the appointment of Gor, a close associate of US President Donald Trump, described it as a major achievement for Indo-US relations. He described Gore as one of the most important people among the people close to Trump and said that his appointment would give India direct access to the highest levels of US administration.

In response to Shashi Tharoor Asha Jadeja’s post, said, “Ashish Jadeja’s views are interesting. However, it is a good thing that we will finally have an US ambassador. If the appointment of an assistant foreign minister for South Asia soon, we can have somewhat stable negotiaters!” Motwani’s post stated five major implications of appointment of Gore, including strong dialogue with Washington, high pressure on Indian companies to invest in the US and increasing interest of American technical companies in the Indian market.

In her post, Asha Jadeja Motwani wrote, “India has got the most powerful American ambassador in recent history. It is a chance for us to ensure that our dialogue is absolutely clear and we can express the importance of this bilateral relationship between our two great democracy. We can do the same in the last few months after assuming the post of surgeon. Let us tell you that 38 -year -old Sergio Gor has been the Personnel Director of the White House and has played an important role in Trump’s 2024 election campaign. Their influence has allegedly increased after overseeing the investigation of political appointments in the new administration.
