Kamal Haasan is currently in the news for his ‘Tamil and Kannada’ controversy more than his recent release film ‘Thug Life’. Despite repeated demands, the superstar refused to apologize, due to which his film could not be released in Karnataka on 5 June. Before the release of ‘Thug Life’, Kamal Haasan made a statement, in which he said that ‘Kannada language has originated from Tamil’. People of the Kannada community got angry after the superstar’s statement. Gradually, the dispute increased significantly and demanded apologies to him, but he refused to apologize. This was the reason that the film could not be released in Karnataka. Now the veteran actor has created a stir with a statement on Hindi as well.

Kamal Haasan’s perspective on Hindi language

In a conversation with PTI, Kamal Haasan has expressed his opinion on the issue of imposing Hindi in South. Referring to his 1981 hit Hindi film ‘Ek Duje Ke for’ in 1981, I said, “I am an actor of ‘for one and other’. We will learn Hindi without imposing because it is finally education and we should adopt a good path for education. But it should not be obstructed in its way. I stand with Punjab. I am standing with Karnataka. I am not standing with Karnataka. Is opposing imposing. “

Kamal Haasan insisted on English

Kamal Haasan said, ‘If you are really looking for success at the international level, then you should learn the only language and that is English. English is quite good. You can also learn Spanish or Chinese, but I think the most practical thing is that we have 350 years old English education, which continues slowly, but continuously. So when you ask it to change suddenly, it starts again. You unnecessarily makes many people illiterate, especially in Tamil Nadu. You suddenly force everyone to talk in Hindi and you tell them that you will not get a job ahead of Vindhya, then you start thinking, what about promises? What about my language? Am I not one of 22 (official languages)? These are the questions that will continue to appear.

Controversy over thug life

Let us know that the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) had said that he would not allow the ‘thug life’ to be released in the state until Haasan apologizes for the Kannada-tumil comment. Kamal Haasan’s banner Rajkamal Films International filed a petition in the Karnataka High Court seeking security for the release of the film. The court reprimanded Kamal Haasan for not apologizing and told the manufacturers that ‘thug life’ would not be released in Karnataka.
