Male: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the leaders of various political parties and people of the Indian community after attending the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Maldives on Saturday as the chief guest. These pictures of the meeting have been shared by PM Modi on his ex account. He called Maldives attending the 60th Independence Day celebrations as an honor.
PM Modi wishes Maldives
He wrote on X, “It was an honor for me to attend the 60th Independence Day celebrations of Maldives. This historical occasion reflects the rich cultural heritage and vibrant soul of Maldives. It is also a symbol of the journey of the country in the past years. From ancient marine traditions to leadership from important global issues like climate change, Maldives has made a unique identity on world stage.”
What did PM Modi say
During the meeting with the people of the Indian community, PM Modi wrote, “It was a pleasant experience to interact with the beneficiaries of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. This initiative focuses on capacity building. The group included police officers, government officials, para-maidix and nurses. All these are actually symbols of India-Maldives friendship and deep relations between our two countries.”
In another post, he wrote, “There are some more glimpses of the conversation with the Indian community in Maldives. Maldives also interacted with the Indian community. It is commendable that they are contributing to the progress of Maldives and also maintaining their connections with India.”
