Anil Kakodkar was born on November 11, 1943 in Mumbai city of Maharashtra.
He was the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India till November 2009.
He was the Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Center from 1996 to 2000.
He is also a director in the Reserve Bank of India.
Anil Kakodkar was awarded Padma Shri in the year 1998, Padma Bhushan in the year 1999 and Padma Vibhushan on January 26, 2009.
