SA VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: If you are going to retire from ODI cricket, this is the way to do it. Quinton De Kock has been sensational in this World Cup so far and is scoring centuries for fun.

He was already the top scorer in this World Cup before the match against New Zealand. But he achieved another historic moment against the Kiwis and is on the verge of one of the best individual tournaments.

De Kock became the first South African to score 500 runs in a World Cup edition. Not only that, he is also the first South African to score 4 centuries in one World Cup and he can achieve more.

Sensational Century

Once again, De Kock was on attack from the first delivery. After a few steady overs, both he and Bavuma started attacking. While Bavuma failed to capitalize on a great start once again, the left-hander had other ideas.

He played brilliantly alongside Rassie Van der Dussen for a 200-run partnership and scored 114 runs in 116 deliveries. The wicket-keeper hit 10 boundaries and 3 sixes in the brilliant inning.

With this De Kock is now on 545 runs in the tournament so far and can easily touch the 600-run mark in the next match. Considering the form he is in, it won’t be surprising to see him touch the 700-run mark as well.

Eyeing Another Record

This was De Kock’s 4th century in his 7th match of the tournament. Rohit Sharma holds the record for most centuries in a World Cup edition with 5. Considering that the Proteas batsman has 3 more innings at least in this ICC ODI World Cup 2023, he can break that record as well.
