In view of the seriousness of the situation, the authorities have also been instructed to increase the response team.
Guidelines for hospitals
Officials have urged the people of Palakkad and Malappuram districts to unnecessarily avoid going to the hospital, especially under current circumstances. It is advisable to limit the meeting with friends or relatives who are undergoing treatment and allow only one Timardar with the patient. Additionally, it has been made mandatory to wear masks at all times for health workers and all the people coming to the hospital, including patients and their companions.
Meanwhile, the Health Minister has issued Nipah alert to hospitals in six districts- Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Wayanad and Thrissur.
