Directed by Indian film actor Anupam Kher, the Hindi film ‘Tanvi The Great’, here, had a grand premiere on the night of May 17 at the Olympia Theater of the Film Bazaar of Cannes Film Festival. The film stars Anupam Kher, Ian Glenn, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Arvind Swamy, Karan Tacer and Shubhangi Dutt.

All the lead actors of this film were present on the occasion along with Anupam Kher. After the film’s premiere, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi and Shubhangi Dutt interacted with the audience. Anupam Kher said that it took him two years to write the script of this film.

He said that the idea of making this film came when he met his brother’s daughter, who was passing through the autism groom. This is a congenital disease that does not allow children to develop natural development. About one percent of the world’s population suffers from this disease.

Tanvi (Shubhangi Dutt) is a seventeen-eighteen year old special child who wants to become a singer. He has an autism divine. His father Captain Samar Pratap Raina (Karan Tacer) has a heartfelt wish that his posting should be held at Siachen’s last soldier post Bana Post where he can salute the tricolor flag of India. Their posting is also done there, but while going there with Major Kailash Srinivasan Arvind Swamy), his truck falls prey to a mines blast and he is martyred in saving his partner.

Tanvi’s mother Vidya Raina (Pallavi Joshi) is an autism desider expert in Delhi and alone she nurtures Tanvi. Suddenly he gets a nine -month fellowship of the US World Autism Foundation on the Autism Digider where he has to do research under the direction of the Foundation President Michael Simon (Ian Glenn). Now the problem is that where to leave Tanvi alone for so many days, which cannot tie the lace of her shoe by herself. She takes Tanvi to her grandfather Colonel Pratap Raina (Anupam Kher), who is living a lonely life of retired soldiers in a military cantonment located in the Himalayan hills after the death of his wife.

Tanvi is admitted to the music school of Raja Saheb (Boman Irani) there. Everything is going well that one day suddenly Tanvi gets a pen drive in her father’s closed room, which shows her father how her father died leaving the incomplete dream of saluting the tricolor on Siachen’s Bana post. From here, her life starts changing and she wants to join the Indian Army to fulfill the incomplete dream of her martyred father, which is her family profession. The difficulty is that there is no law to recruit the people of the autism Digarder in the army.

Two trips to the film run simultaneously from here. Tanvi, a victim of the autism digider, takes himself out of her physical weaknesses with harsh practice and resolve to join the Indian Army and on the other hand laid the foundation of a new relationship with her grandfather. Two different types of humans slowly try to understand each other. This is the most beautiful side of the film here. Tanvi Major Kailash enrolls for SSB examination at the training academy of Srinivasan and has to leave the music school.

It is the same major who was martyred while saving his father. Impressed by Tanvi’s loyalty, honesty and resolution, the Indian Army does not recruit her but allows her father to fulfill her incomplete dream as a citizen. But Anupam Kher’s film collides with many more questions through this story. A dialogue in the film repeatedly comes that “I am Different Butt Nat Les”. (I am separate but no less than anyone) that is, the inverted abnormal of normal is not abnormal, but it is different.

Tanvi’s mother Vidya Raina in America suggests in her research that such children can be made a normal life worth living with good care. The film has a Brigadier Sharma (Jackie Shroff) whose social influencer son considers the army job to be an idiot and deficit deal. Anupam Kher’s success is that he has focused on human relations and not wandering the film, avoiding the Gauravagan and glorification of the Indian Army. He has done imaginative filming of songs as a director.

The choreography of a song is very good and attractive – “Army Ki Jai, Jai Ho Jaye.” The script has tried to produce humor with the pronunciation of Hindi language. Anupam Kher has abstained from unnecessary sets and frills and has always focused on the screenplay. A tree has been planted in the courtyard of the house in the memory of Tanvi’s father Captain Samar Pratap Raina, which gives the characters of the film a space and opportunity to pass in the corridors of memories. This heart -rare screenplay is kept away from violence and noise.

Tanvi defeats in the final round of the Army’s SSB exam, but she succeeds in fulfilling the dream of her martyr father as a citizen. In a poignant scene during training, she saves the life of music guru Raja Saheb by disregarding the order of Major Kailash Srinivasan and also suffers the punishment for being dismissed from the academy.

Anupam Kher has done a great job with his actors. Even in guest roles, South India actors Nasir and Jackie Shroff have done a good job. Anupam Kher is a great actor and Pallavi Joshi also affects. But the best work is done by Shubhangi Dutt (Tanvi) while this is his first film.
