Kathmandu: Apart from India, Hindus celebrated the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with great pomp on Wednesday in the neighboring country Nepal. Devotees worshiped Lord Ganesha and celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great enthusiasm and reverence. Vighnaharta Lord Ganesha is considered the god of intellect, knowledge and prosperity. This holy festival, celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadra month, was celebrated with special enthusiasm and gaiety in various temples of Nepal.

There was a boom in the temples of Kathmandu

A large crowd of devotees gathered in Kamaladi Ganesh, Ashok Binayak and Surya Binayak temples in the major Ganesh temples of Kathmandu. Here the devotees attended the worship of Lord Ganesha and gave them flowers, fruits and sweets. Wished for good luck, knowledge and prosperity. This festival of Ganesh Chaturthi presents a glimpse of religious faith and cultural harmony in the lives of the local people.

Devotees gathered in all cities of Nepal

On this occasion, not only Kathmandu, but also the number of devotees in Ganesh temples of other cities and towns of Nepal. Everywhere devotees were seen worshiping Lord Ganesha with devotion. The Newar community of Nepal, who is a follower of both Hindu and Buddhist religions, organized special cultural programs and banquet on this day. In this banquet, dishes made of ground rice, black lentils, beans, ginger and garlic were served. This Prasad was first offered to Lord Ganesha, after which it was distributed among the devotees. During the banquet, people celebrated the happiness of the festival together and spread the message of harmony and love towards each other.
