Apple’s big shock, ban on iPhone with BOE display, these iPhone models will not be sold
Apple Iphone
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has banned the sale of iPhone with display made in China. Apple may suffer a major loss. However, Apple claims that it will not be affected by this ban. Let us know that since the iPhone 15 series, the American tech company is using OLED display of Chinese company BOE for its affordable iPhones. After this ban, sales of the company’s affordable iPhones may be affected. However, this ban is currently for the US market.
What is the matter?
South Korean company Samsung has accused the Chinese company BOE of stealing the technology of the OLED panel. Legal battle is running between these two companies over the OLED panel. The US International Trade Commission has then decided to ban the sale of iPhone with the Chinese brand display. The legal battle between BOE and Samsung may also have an impact on Samsung. Also, sales of iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16E can also be affected due to this.
According to South Korean Publication ETNEWS, OLED has banned the sale of products based on technology as well as its promotion and other activities. The Chinese company has been a core supplier for Apple from BOE 2023. Not only this, reports are also coming out that the display of the Chinese company will also be used in the affordable models of the iPhone 17 series. Also, BOE display may be used in mass production of both models of the iPhone 17 Pro series. In such a situation, due to this ban, the launch of the iPhone 17 series is also estimated to be delayed.
Apple products will not be affected
The ITC has currently imposed this temporal ban on the sale of iPhone with BOE displays. Not only this, it has also been ordered to limit the iPhone model imported from China. However, Apple has not feared any difference from this ban. Apple has said that Apple is not in favor in this legal battle, due to which its products will not be affected. The final decision in this case will come in November 2025. During this time, US President Donald Trump can stop the International Trade Commission’s decision via veto.
