Approval of 5th generation indigenous fighter aircraft model
The production model of the 5th -generation fighter aircraft i.e. Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) to be built in India has been approved. The central government gave this information on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Defense said that to make the aircraft, private companies along with the government will also be given a chance to bid. Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) will soon release the Exemption of Interest (EOI) for this.
The announcement of giving a chance to private companies in making aircraft led to an increase of about 6 percent in the shares of defense and its associated sectors. The Nifty India Defense Index also reached 52 -week new high 8,674.05.
AMCA project was approved in 2024
In April 2024, the Cabinet Committee (CCS) on security approved a project of Rs 15,000 crore for the design and development of 5th generation indigenous fighter jet. This fighter jet is ‘Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft’ (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft – AMCA).
ADA is the nodal agency to designing the execution and aircraft of this program. The ADA comes under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
This would be better than other fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force. Hitech will be equipped with technology to avoid the enemy radar. Other stealth fighter aircraft of the 5th generation used at the international level will be better or even better.
