In the last 48 hours it was declared the most polluted city in the world. Dense fog is covering all the major districts of Punjab. The air quality index exceeded 1,000 in some areas of Lahore. This level is considered extremely dangerous for public health and safety.

The government has said that this restriction was imposed in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari and Khanewal districts.
