In fact, telecom companies are constantly installing mobile towers to increase connectivity. Cyber criminals are now trying to take advantage of this.
Let us tell you that telecom companies take place from people on rent to install mobile towers many times. The company whose tower is installed gives a lump sum of a lump sum to the owner who gives the place. However, there is a complete legal process of installing mobile towers that companies follow.
TRAI name letter went viral
Meanwhile, a message is going viral on social media in which there is talk of installing mobile towers on behalf of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI. One such letter issued by TRAI related to mobile towers installation was examined by the PIB Fact check.
Big disclosure in PIB investigation
In the viral letter, under the Telecommunication Act 1972 from TRAI, Mr. Muni Ramreddy was said to have installed a mobile tower here. In this letter of TRAI, Honor was also asked to deposit Rs 5000 for mobile tower installation. In the PIB investigation, the letter of mobile tower installation issued by TRAI was found to be completely fake. Investigation revealed that no such letter has been released by TRAI for any person.
PIB Factchc has also shared such fake letter being spread by the name of TRAI with its official X handle. PIB wrote in its caption that if you get a message of mobile tower installation, then be careful immediately. PIB also wrote that TRAI never releases such a letter. This clearly shows that this is a new trick of cyber criminals so that people can get greed and money can be charged from them.
