Army officer beat 4 SpiceJet employees
An army officer assaulted four SpiceJet employees over extra luggage at Srinagar Airport in Jammu and Kashmir. The spinal cord of an employee was broken. The other’s jaw broke. Blood started coming out of the third nose. At the same time, the fourth employee fainted, despite that the accused kept kicking.
The incident took place on 26 July. The matter has now come up. The airline issued a statement saying that the accused military officer has been put on the no flying list. At the same time, the army has also taken cognizance of the case and said that action against the accused.
According to the report of India Today, the accused officer has been identified as Lieutenant Colonel Ritesh Kumar Singh. He is posted at the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg. The police have registered an FIR, although the arrest has not been made yet.

On July 26, SpiceJet Flight SG-386 was going from Srinagar to Delhi. At the boarding gate, a passenger, who is being described as an army officer, attacked four staff.
According to the airline, the accused officer was carrying two cabin baggage, whose total weight was 16 kg. It was twice the 7 kg limit. SpiceJet’s staff told the passenger that your luggage is more than the fixed standards. So you have to make additional payment.
The accused officer refused to pay extra money. He then entered the Aerobridge forcibly without completing the boarding process. It was a violation of the security protocol.
Attack from stand placed in line
When the staff tried to stop the accused, he started beating. Attacked the employee from a stand placed next to it. They also kicked and punched them. Some also suffered injuries in the jaws.
An employee of SpiceJet fell unconscious to the ground, but the passenger kept kicking the unconscious employee. While leaning down to help the unconscious employee, another employee started bleeding from his nose and mouth due to strong kicking on the jaw. The injured employees have been admitted to the hospital.
Letter was also sent to Ministry of Civil Aviation
The airline said that an FIR has been registered against the accused in the police. The passenger has been put on the no-fly list as per civil aviation rules.
SpiceJet has written a letter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, giving information about the deadly attack on its employees and requested appropriate action against the passenger. The airline has also handed over the CCTV footage of the incident to the police from the airport officials.
