Qrsam Air Defense System
New Delhi: At a time when the Indian air defense system successfully thwarted Pakistani missiles and drone attacks during Operation Sindoor, the strength of the Indian Army is now going to increase further. The Indian Army will get a Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile System (QRSAM) with a 30,000 crore. According to defense officials, the Ministry of Defense is considering the proposal to buy three regiments of Qrsam for deployment on the western and northern border of the country.
What is Qrsam Air Defense System, what is its specialty?
- Qrsam means Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile System. It is an indigenous missile. It has been developed by DRDO for the Indian Army.
- These missile systems will be purchased for three regiments. They will be used on the western and northern borders of the country.
- They can move very fast. As soon as they go on, they can search and track the enemy’s target. Also, they can stop at small stops and fire.
- The range of this missile is about 30 km. This will work closely with the Mrsam and Akash missile system already existing in the army.
- It is highly dynamic, as it has the ability to find, track and penetrate them in a very short time.
- This will make the security of less and medium distance even stronger. QRSAM, along with the rest of the missiles, will help protect the country from enemy aerial attacks.
Defense officials said that in the fourth week of this month, the Ministry of Defense is going to consider the proposal to buy three regiments of the surface -to -air QRSAM for the Army.
