Bangladesh: Arrest warrant against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, order to appear before November 18

Dhaka. The local court of Bangladesh on Thursday (October 17) has ordered to issue an arrest warrant against exiled former leader Sheikh Hasina. At the same time, former PM Sheikh Hasina has taken refuge in New Delhi after the violent rebellion in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Chief Prosecutor of Bangladesh’s International Criminal Tribunal, Mohammad Tajul Islam, while talking to the media on Thursday, said, “The court has ordered the arrest of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and to produce her in the court on November 18.”

The International Criminal Tribunal (ICT) on Thursday charged former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 45 other top Awami League leaders, including former ministers and officials. Arrest warrants have been issued against all of them. In fact, an arrest warrant has been issued in connection with alleged crimes against humanity during the July-August insurgency. During this, orders were passed under the leadership of ICT Chairman Justice Mohammad Ghulam Murtuza Majumdar.
