Ashish Kapoor, ‘seven rounds’ fame actor caught in a lot of difficulty, arrest in serious rape charges

TV actor Ashish Kapoor was arrested by Delhi Police from Pune on charges of rape. The victim alleged that Kapoor raped her in the washroom during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August. According to the police, the victim met Ashish Kapoor on Instagram. The FIR initially had the names of Ashish Kapoor, his friend, friend’s wife and two unknown people. Later, the victim changed the statement and said that only Ashish Kapoor raped her.
Claim to record video
The victim also claimed that the incident was videographed, but the police have not found any such video yet. The victim alleges that Ashish Kapoor’s friend’s wife beat her up when she got out of the washroom. According to the police, the wife of Ashish Kapoor’s friend made a PCR call.
Where was the arrest
DCP (North) Raja Bantia confirmed the arrest and said that Kapoor was detained in Pune on Wednesday. Police tracked Ashish Kapoor in various states. According to the investigators, after registering the case, the police teams continued to chase Kapoor from Delhi to Goa and then Pune, where they were arrested. Officials said the investigation is going on and after completion of the formalities, gang rape charges will be replaced by rape charges.
Repeatedly changed statements
According to officials, Kapoor and women were associated on Instagram, before Kapoor invited her to a party at his friend’s house, where the alleged incident took place. Police records show that an FIR was lodged against Ashish Kapoor, his friend, his wife and two unidentified people on 11 August. On August 18, the woman recorded another statement, alleging that Kapoor and her friend raped her and the friend’s wife hit her. A few days later on August 21, Ashish Kapoor’s friend and his wife were granted anticipatory bail. The complainant attended the hearing, but did not name Kapoor’s friend in his statements.
CCTV footage and statements of eyewitnesses
According to investigating officials, CCTV footage and statements of witnesses show that Ashish Kapoor and women entered the toilet together. When they did not come out, the guests started knocking on the door. It was reportedly followed by a quarrel, which spread to the gate of the residential complex, where the complainant claimed that the friend’s wife killed him.
