The Chennai Super Kings team has officially dropped from the tournament after the defeat against Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. After making such a poor start of this season, he failed to make a comeback and became the first team to be out of the tournament. Former spinner Harbhajan Singh has also openly criticized the franchise’s decision to put Ashwin on the bench.
Bhajji clearly said that you have not given Ashwin to sit on 10 crore bench. Bhajji said, “Chennai did not choose the team on the basis of circumstances. If Nur Ahmed, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja could play together against Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings could win the match. You did not give 10 crores rupees to make Ashwin sit on the bench. I don’t know why he is not playing, but he feels like that he would have fought with anyone.”
Speaking further, Bhajji said, “He is not the only player who has not done well. Other players are playing despite their normal performance, but Ashwin is out of the team. He should have played against Punjab, as the ball was spinning.”
The CSK team is currently out of the playoff race and now they are fighting to save their honor. Now Chennai Super Kings are set to face Royal Challengers Bangalore at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 3 May. After a continuous defeat, he will be looking for a long win.
