At the age of 79, Dheeraj Kumar said goodbye to the world
The day of July 15, 2025, brought a sad news for Bollywood and television world. Famous actor, producer and director Dheeraj Kumar died at the age of 79 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. They were struggling with pneumonia and respiratory problems. On July 14, after deteriorating his health, he was kept on ventilator support in the ICU, but breathed his last at 11:40 am on 15 July. His son was present in the hospital with him at the last minute.
Treatment was going on in hospital, death due to cardiac arrest
The reason behind the hospitalization of Dheeraj Kumar was a serious infection of pneumonia. According to reports, he received a cardiac arrest during treatment, causing him to die. His family had earlier issued a statement stating that his condition is critical and he is undergoing treatment under strict supervision of doctors. But now his death has been confirmed. The body will be brought home a few hours later and the last rites can be performed on Tuesday, as their relatives are reaching Mumbai from Punjab.
There was a great contribution in both film and TV
Dheeraj Kumar started the acting career in 1965. Apart from Hindi films, he also acted in more than 21 Punjabi films. His major films include successful films like ‘Roti Clot Aur House’, ‘Heera Panna’, ‘Sargam’, ‘Karma War’, ‘Bahar Phool Barsao’ and ‘Swami’.
After acting, he also earned a name as a producer. He founded the popular production house ‘Creative Eye’ and produced more than 35 successful TV shows like ‘Om Namah Shivaay’, ‘Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyan’, ‘Myka’, ‘Adalat’. His contribution to the television industry has been unmatched.
