Bollywood veteran actress Mumtaz turns 78. Mumtaz was born on 31 July 1947 in Mumbai. At the age of just 12, he made his step in the film industry. In the sixties, Mumtaz acted in several stunt films, in which his hero was played by Dara Singh.

In 1965, Mumtaz’s cine career film ‘Mere Sanam’ was released. It appeared in the role of Mumtaz villain. In this film, in the voice of Asha Bhosle, the song ‘Yeh Hai Reshmi Zulfon Ka Dark Khiriye’, which was filmed by OP Nayyar, became very popular among the audience in those days.

The film ‘Patthar Ke Sanam’, released in 1967, is included in Mumtaz’s important films. Mumtaz played the role of Sahanayika in this film starring Manoj Kumar and Waheeda Rehman. In this film too, an item song ‘Ae Dushman Jaan’ was filmed on him which became very popular among the audience. Mumtaz’s film ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ was released in 1967, which proved to be her first superhit film as the lead actress.

The star of Mumtaz’s acting shines with producer-director Raj Khosla’s classical film Do Rasta. Adorned with excellent song-music and acting, the success of this film established not only Mumtaz but also actor Rajesh Khanna as a star. After marrying Mayur Madhwani in 1974, Mumtaz reduced working in films.

In 1977, the film Aina proved to be the last film of her cine career as an actress. Unfortunately, the film proved to be unsuccessful at the box office. After almost 12 years, Mumtaz started the second innings of her cine career with the film Andhiya released in 1989, but the film also failed on the box.

The pair of Mumtaz was well liked with Rajesh Khanna. Mumtaz has acted in about 100 films in his two decades of cine career. Mumtaz is not active in the film industry these days, although he is active on social media.
