The prices of ATF have been increased by 3 percent this time, which will directly affect the operational cost of the airline companies. The new ATF rates have come into effect from August 1. Air travel can also become expensive due to the increase in ATF prices for the second consecutive time. In view of the fluctuations in the international standard rate, the prices of ATF have been increased freshly. According to public sector companies, the price of ATF on Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), one of the country’s busiest airports in the capital Delhi, has increased by Rs 2677.88 per kiloliter, or 2.9 percent to Rs 92,021.93 per kiloliter.

Let us tell you that earlier, on July 1, the prices of ATF were huge increase by 7.5 percent (Rs 6271.5 per kilo). After which, now the price of ATF has been increased by Rs 2677.88. Let us tell you that the prices of ATF were cut 3 times consecutive (April, May and June) before the prices rise in July. Overall aircraft fuel was cheaper by Rs 12,239.17 per kiloliter in these three cuts. Subsequently, ATF has become expensive by Rs 8949.38 per kilo in July and August. Due to which the reduction of Rs 12,239.17 per kiloliter in 3 months has been over three-fourths.

What are the new ATF prices in Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata

This increase in the prices of ATF is corresponding to the rise in international oil prices after global tension and tariff war. This increase will increase the burden on commercial airline companies, whose operating cost is about 40 percent of the ATF. From today, the price of ATF in Mumbai increased from Rs 83,549.23 per kiloliter to Rs 86,077.14 per kiloliter, while in Chennai and Kolkata it has been priced at Rs 95,512.26 and Rs 95,164.90 per kiloliter respectively. Due to the effect of regional tax like VAT, rates vary in different cities.
